The City of Warsaw will be receiving federal funds for two projects.
The City Planning department applied for a federal grant to fund a $1.1 million project to add sidewalks to the neighborhood near Lincoln Elementary.
Assistant City Planner Justin Taylor says it will allow many children walking to the school safer passage.
“Creating a better pedestrian infrastructure around Lincoln Elementary is a good thing since they’re promoting students within a mile of the school to walk, we really want to set them up to be safe,” he explains.
Another $2.6 million was also awarded to Warsaw for an Anchorage Road reconstruction project.
The work will begin in 2021 when the funds are received.
