The Granger woman found guilty of child neglect and feticide after placing her baby in the dumpster behind Moe's Southwest in Mishawaka will have to wait longer to hear her fate. The sentencing hearing for Purvi Patel, originally set for yesterday has been rescheduled, after a motion for continuance was made by the defense. The hearing is now set for the morning of March 30th. Prosecutors say Patel used drugs she bought online to try to force a miscarriage after becoming pregnant by a married man. She could face as many as 70 years behind bars, given her two convictions.
