A Walkerton pizzeria has received thousands of negative Facebook and Yelp comments after the owners said they would not cater a same-sex wedding because of their religious beliefs. Crystal O’Connor of Memories Pizza told ABC 57 that she and her family are Christians, but they would NOT deny services to anyone who came in to dine at their restaurant. Since the story aired, the company’s Yelp and Facebook ratings have dropped to a single star, which is the lowest rating and people from all over the world have posted comments on both pages. Their website page was even hacked to be redirected to a gay men's pornographic site. Meantime, a Concord High School girl's golf coach has been suspended after allegedly posting a Tweet suggesting the business be burned down. The Walkerton Police Department issued a statement saying they investigated the Tweet reported to have been sent by coach Jess Dooley and submitted a case to the St. Joseph County Prosecutors office for possible charges of harassment, intimidation, and threats. The restaurant remained closed on Wednesday. A Go-Fund Me account set up for the pizzeria had raised nearly 40-thousand dollars by late last night.
