A puppy was found in the trash and now employees with Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control are asking for your help in finding the person or persons responsible.
The five-month old female, named Pearl by the FWACC staff, was found in the back of a garbage truck after the driver of the vehicle heard the puppy crying around the 2900 block of Reed Street.
FWACC received a call Thursday, Feb. 22 from the driver. Animal Control Officers responded to the scene and noticed Pearl seemed to be injured. She was not wearing an ID tag and was not microchipped.
After Pearl was examined, it was discovered she suffered injuries to her face and head, but she will make a full recovery.
FWACC staffers have launched a full investigation to find the person or persons responsible for throwing Pearl into the trash. Officers have canvassed the area along the driver’s route to locate where Pearl was picked up in attempts to identify the responsible party/parties.
You are asked to call Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control at 427-1244 or 449-3000 after 8 p.m. and on weekends with any information that may bring justice for Pearl.
