Trial Set For New Paris Baby Sitter Accused Of Causing The Death Of A Child

The trial for a New Paris baby sitter accused of causing the death of a child in her care has been moved to next year. 59 year-old Jackie Rolston was charged in March with one count of battery on a child resulting in death in connection with the  death, last fall, of 19-month-old Kirk Coleman. Rolston’s trial was scheduled to begin in October, but was rescheduled to late January.According to court documents, Coleman was rushed to the hospital while Rolston was baby-sitting him at her home. Rolston told first responders the boy was choking on his lunch. An autopsy determined Coleman died from blunt force trauma to the head.
