A local organization is sending care packages and letters of encouragement to people battling cancer. “Phil's Friends” is a service of Shepherd by the Lakes Lutheran Church in Syracuse. If you know someone with cancer, you can tell Phil's Friends about them by calling 574-528-6137. According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 1.6 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer this year, including more than 35,000 in Indiana.
