Elhart County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a Syracuse man for allegedly battering his wife in front of a minor. Police were called to the home in the 14-thousand block of Highway 6 early Saturday morning. The police report indicated 40 year-old Phillip Moore punched and kicked the victim in the head, arm and hip area, causing injury. Officers say he also disconnected a cellphone while she tried to call for help. He was booked into the Elkhart County Jail.
