Senator Joe Donnelly has hit the “Hoosier Highways” as he prepares to fight for his re-election.
The Democratic Incumbent is driving himself in an RV, but many expect some bumpy roads with certain parts of the state.
He hopes his message of bipartisan common sense will resonate with voters across the board, statewide. However, in 2012 he won a majority of the votes in just 26 of the state’s 92 counties, beating Republican challenger Richard Murdock by six points.
Donnelly won 63-percent of the vote in LaPorte County, 60-percent in St. Joseph County, and 42-percent in Elkhart County. One of his worst performances four years ago came in Kosciusko County, with only 28-percent of the vote.
This year, a huge ad blitz supported by PACs associated with the Koch Brothers are expected to play a big role in the battle between Donnelly and outsider Republican candidate Mike Braun.
