The president of Zimmer is hoping to avoid layoffs as much as possible following the company’s recent merger with Biomet. CEO David Dvorak told “The Elkhart Truth,” each company runs its own independent distributor network and he aims to keep both. He expects that the combined portfolio of Zimmer and Biomet products will provide “plenty for those sales reps to do.” A recent letter sent from Zimmer and Biomet to all of their employees addressed the concerns of layoffs, saying it’s their intention that all sales representatives from both companies will be retained.
