A 2 year old girl is reportedly in critical condition after falling from a Warsaw apartment balcony. The Times Union tells us that according to Warsaw Police Department Lt. Kip Shuter, the 2-year-old fell from a second-story balcony Monday night while the adult caring for the toddler was showering. Police responded to Canterbury Apartments in Warsaw around 7:30 p.m. Monday. Shuter said while the adult was showering, the toddler, identified as Miyah Pearson, exited the apartment onto the balcony as the balcony door was not locked. The child reportedly climbed onto a chair that was positioned close to the railing and fell over the railing to the ground. Pearson was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne and Shuter said the child remains in critical condition. No further information on the extent of the injuries was available.
