A high speed chase that crossed the state line helped bring down a man on the run from federal authorities.
Theodore Phillips accused of writing bad checks worth thousands of dollars.
Last week, he was captured during a police pursuit after investigators say he tried to cash a fake payroll check at a bank in Three Oaks.
Police caught up to Phillips who drove on to I-94, heading toward Indiana at more than 100 miles per hour.
Police tried to surround Phillips’ vehicle, but he got off the interstate, then drove back onto a ramp in the wrong direction.
Officers from Berrien County, Amtrack Police, Pokagon Tribal Police and Indiana State Police took part in the chase.
It turns out Phillips had been wanted by the FBI for more than 5 years. He was taken to the LaPorte County Jail.
