An Elkhart-based RV maker is about to become the largest such business in the world.
Thor Industries has announced a $2.4-billion deal to acquire German RV maker Erwin Hymer Group SE, adding more than 7,300 global employees to the payroll and a network of 1,200 retailers.
Both companies tell Inside Indiana Business there should be no change in the number of employees or company facilities as a result of the deal, which Thor CEO Bob Martin calls “a unique opportunity to grow with the European RV market leader.”
The deal still needs regulatory approvals before it becomes official.
