Fort Wayne International Airport officials say traffic at the airport is expected to increase over the busy vacation travel months of March and April, and compared to last year's spring break season, flights at FWA are up 27 percent. To save time at the airport, officials are reminding passengers that mobile boarding passes are permitted on all airlines, and boarding passes may also be printed at home via an airline’s website.
Along with that, the check-in time for all airlines is 24 hours prior to departure for mobile device users and those printing their boarding pass at home. Those wishing to check-in at the airport may do so 90 minutes prior to departure for American/US Airways, Delta, and United flights and two hours prior to departure for Allegiant flights. All passengers must be checked-in at least 30 minutes prior to departure to guarantee their seat on a flight.
The weight limit per checked bag on American/US Airways, Delta, and United is 50 pounds. Allegiant’s weight limit is 40 pounds. Bags weighing over these limits will be subject to additional fees. Passengers are also reminded that all items necessary for children may be checked at no charge. Allegiant passengers are required to pay for each carry-on bag.
