The Combined Community Services Toy Time Consignment Sale is planned for Dec. 15-16.
The event recycles toys, helps families in need and cleans out toy boxes, according to a news release from organizer Ami Pitt.
First, good quality toys are accepted from the public. Volunteers price them and put them in a consignment sale. It is a 50-50 split with the consignor. Each year, about 11,000 toys are priced in four days.
The used toy sale is then opened to the public. With CCS’s 50 percent of the sale proceeds, it purchases new toys. The toys it purchases are then put in an allotment of Toys for Tots toys and Teen and Baby items from American Bikers Aimed Toward Education, as well as toys that the community donates.
CCS then does a two-day toy giveaway for parents of about 1,500 children, the release states. Also given out are Bibles, warmth items and any other help that can be provided.
The public may drop off good-quality used toys and baby items from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 10 to 13.
The used toy sale is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 15 and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 16.
The toy giveaway is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 18 and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 19.
All events are at the Home and Family Arts Building at the Kosciusko County fairgrounds.
