Police were called to Dennis Intermediate School in Richmond, IN on a report of shots fired shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday morning. The school went into lockdown.
Indiana State Police confirm a teen suspect was shot and killed in an active shooter situation. Indiana State Sergeant Boling says the suspect took his own life.
The Palladium-Item reports a suspect ran into the building after an incident that began away from school grounds.
There has been an active shooter situation at Dennis Intermediate School. At this time, the school building is secure.

Shooting at Dennis Middle School, Richmond, IN, in Wayne Co. has resulted in the death of the teenage suspect. No other students reported to be injured. @ISPPendleton Sgt. John Bowling will arrive shortly and will update media on where to meet for more info.

The school is located about 70 miles east of Indianapolis.
Dennis students are being transported to Richmond High School. Parents are asked to pick students up at Civic Hall.
