Lawyers for the wife of a man from Elkhart who was a member of ISIS have filed an emergency motion for her to be released from custody until her trial.
Samantha El Hassani is accused of aiding a terrorist organization when she traveled to the Middle East with her husband a few years ago and helped lay the ground work for several ISIS operations in Syria.
El Hassani’s lawyer claims she needs mental health treatment she isn’t getting.
U.S. Attorneys are asking for the motion to be denied.
Her trial is scheduled for January 2020.
