Boom heard and felt throughout Kosciusko County

What was that boom?

That’s what Kosciusko County residents were asking themselves Sunday night.

Dispatch says they received numerous reports of a boom heard and felt shortly after 6:30 p.m.

The calls came from a wide range of locations throughout the county.

Officers were out investigating, but no official cause has been released.

Some speculate it may have been “frost quake”- a seismic activity caused by a sudden cracking action in frozen ground saturated with water or ice.
