Sixth grader Maverik Lowe is continuing to recover after the bus stop crash that seriously injured him in October.

He was one of four children hit when 24-year-old Alyssa Shepherd allegedly passed a Tippecanoe Valley school bus. The three other children were killed.

Lowe’s mother tells WISH-TV in Indianapolis that Maverik was thrown 66 feet in the incident, requiring 12 hours of surgery.

He went home from the hospital at the end of November.

It isn’t clear if Maverik will ever walk again, but he says he will do it for his friends who aren’t coming back.

A GoFundMe continues to raise funds for his medical bills. You can donate here: https://www.gofundme.com/maverik-medical-bills-and-relief
