The 11 year-old who allegedly shot his State Trooper father at their home in Granger was angry about having his video games taken away.
The shooting happened on February 22nd. The South Bend Tribune has learned that the boy told police he’d been planning the shooting while he was at school that day. He faces charges of attempted murder in juvenile court, and court documents describe how the boy got a hold of his father’s gun from his parked vehicle outside the home. Those documents suggest the child was angry because his parents had taken his video games away.
The boy was in court Tuesday for an initial hearing and is due back in court April 10th.
