The Tippecanoe Valley School District was honored Tuesday afternoon by Riley Children’s Hospital.
Schools in the district became what are known as a “red wagon school,” which is gained after a school raises at least $2,500 or more toward the Riley Kids Fund. Students from each of the schools gathered in the gymnasium at the high school for a photo opportunity.
Riley representative Susan Mills said that the district is the first one ever to have all schools in its district hit the $2,500 mark. This means combined, the district raised at least $10,000 for the hospital.
Each school will have a personalized Riley license plate that will be displayed in the schools, while the originals will be displayed at the hospital in Indianapolis.
