The Kosciusko County Community Foundation is teaming up with local organizations and companies to help with grants to area non-profit groups.
CEO Stephanie Overbey says the foundation has teamed with up the K21 Health Foundation, United Way of Kosciusko County and the Zimmer Biomet Foundation.
This week, Overbey says a round of grants totaling $25,000 will be in support of shelters and residential programs whose residents are now sheltering in place 24/7 and largely not working. Those organizations include All Things New, Beaman Home, Bowen Center group homes, Cardinal Services group homes, Fellowship Missions, Rose Garden Recovery Community (formerly Rose Home North), and Serenity House.
Because of this, it has increased the cost of food supplies, utilities and staffing. Additionally, expenses for additional cleaning/disinfecting and personal protective equipment have been significant for these organizations.
Last week, grants totaling $20,000 went to area food pantries.
