Warsaw, Winona Lake among communities to receive INDOT grants

Warsaw, Winona Lake were one of several local entities were awarded part of a $126.5 million grant from the Indiana Department of Transportation.

INDOT Commissioner Joe McGuinness made the announcement during Governor Eric Holcomb’s daily press conference in Indianapolis on Tuesday afternoon. The money is part of the Community Crossings Matching Grant, in which communities and counties alike applied for earlier this year.

Warsaw was awarded $497,822 and Winona Lake was granted $630,378.63.

The grant is for road and bridge preservation, reconstruction and small structure replacements, along with ADA projects involving ramps and sidewalks and certain drainage projects.
