Warsaw., IN – Warsaw Community Schools has formed a Graduation Taskforce consisting of select senior students, parents, school board members, and WCHS faculty who are working diligently to develop a plan to make graduation a special ceremony for all graduates. Warsaw Community Schools has two important announcements for seniors should Gov. Holcomb lift the “Stay at Home” order. First, WCS is proposing a plan to distribute Senior items for graduation. This would occur on Friday, May 8, 2020. Organizers will establish a schedule by assigned time-slot in alphabetical order according to the senior’s last name. Details will be published and available on the district website. Students will pick up pre-ordered announcements; caps; gowns; honor cords; and Tri-Kappa Awards. Any items not collected on Friday, May 8 can be retrieved from WCHS Main Office beginning on Monday, May 11. WCHS Main Office is open from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon Monday through Thursday until May 28 for this purpose.
Second, principals and counselors are planning to work with Stephanie Overbey, CEO of Kosciusko County Community Foundation, to offer a “virtual” or taped Senior Awards Night.
