In their Wednesday update, the Kosciusko County Health Department has added two more positive cases to their cumulative total, bringing it up to 51 since the first case was reported eight weeks ago.
With the two cases today, that brings the weekly count up to 11 new cases, which would make it the most reported in any week since the week ending Saturday, April 4th when ten were reported.
This comes after the county had the second least amount of cases reported just last week, when four new cases were reported.
There were no new deaths or recoveries reported, leaving those totals at one death and 20 recoveries.
When asked about the rising number of cases at Wednesday’s daily press conference at Warsaw city hall, Kosciusko County Health Officer Dr. Bill Remington said the amount of positive cases has been expected to rise as the amount of testing expands.
“The case count is going up, but there isn’t a disaster at the door. It’s provided a different motif of what is going on.” Remington says key metrics are improving across the country. There is a decrease in positive tests nationwide.
