With the recent rainfall of almost 4 inches, the Winona Lake Preservation Association would like boaters on the lake to observe a no-wake when using their boats or personal water craft until the water level recedes below the piers to a more normal level.
Many piers are at or already under water and boat waves can not only cause property damage but erosion of the shoreline, according to Chris Cummins, WLPA president. In addition, there are several large logs, up to 24 inches in diameter, along with other debris that are floating and can be an extremely hazardous to any boat going faster than idle speed. The lake has crested and should hopefully be near normal by Saturday, Cummins stated. “Thanks you for your cooperation.”
