The Indiana Department of Education has announced federal School Improvement Grants for eight Indiana schools, and one of them is from Warsaw. Lakeview Middle School will receive $723,000 for improvements. According to the press release, school Improvement Grants are awarded to schools that demonstrate a need for additional funds, as well as a commitment to use the funds to raise achievement levels in low performing schools. The total amount awarded to Indiana schools is more than $8 million over the next five years. The funds must be used to implement one of six federally approved school improvement models. The grant is fully funded by the federal government.
