Lutheran Health Network Kosciusko Community Hospital sponsored the purchase of a new ultrasound machine for Heartline Pregnancy Center.
The machine is equipped with a doppler that can be used by women who are 12 weeks or more pregnant and women can receive an ultrasound starting at 7 weeks pregnant, according to the announcement from KCH. This machine is 2D, 3D and 4D capable and provides both an abdominal probe and a vaginal probe. The machine is portable, as it comes on a rolling cart that can be moved between exam rooms.
Heartline Executive Director Amy Rosswurm said in the announcement, “I am so grateful to KCH for their generous donation to be able to purchase a new ultrasound machine. The mobile capabilities of having a portable ultrasound machine opens so many doors for our services that we provide in Heartline's clinic. This machine will give our nursing staff an even clearer picture of a baby during ultrasound which will enable moms to see the life growing more easily as well. This collaboration will enhance services provided to Kosciusko County as well as surrounding counties.”
“We believe this is a high-impact community health initiative that will support thousands of local women who seek healthcare assistance at Heartline during a critical time in their life,” said Kirk Ray, CEO at Lutheran Health Network Kosciusko Community Hospital. “We want all women to receive accurate health information and compassionate help to provide the support that they need. Heartline can now provide clear ultrasounds through their new updated equipment.”
