START UNITED, the summer experience for at-risk children, is wrapping up its final week. The Partnership between United Way, Warsaw and Wawasee Schools is an on-ramp for kids who needed to regain any momentum that was lost during the long break, nearly 800 kids have been a part of this effort.
On Wednesday, August 5th at 11:30 at Lakeview Middle School in Warsaw, volunteers will distribute backpacks full of schools supplies and hygiene items to the children. These backpacks were donated and assembled by dedicated community volunteers over the last few weeks.
United Way will lead a short program before the distribution begins. Media is invited to attend. Copies of the formal press release will be available.
