Woman Arrested For Spitting On Nurse

A domestic battery dispute at the Deluxe Inn Sept. 9 ended with a woman spitting on a nurse in Kosciusko Community Hospital’s emergency room.
Warsaw Police Department responded to the hotel to find Richard Howard, who advised that he had argued with his wife, Raleen Hyde, over their children. He said that she had left the area, according to the probable cause affidavit provided by Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police found Hyde, 29, of 8118 E. Ind. 30, Pierceton, in the hotel looking for a new room key.
Child Protective Services was contacted and advised Hyde that they were taking the children from her and that Howard would take them. She then became visibly upset and threatened that she would kill herself.
Police attempted to take Hyde to the Bowen Center when she resisted and had to be forcibly placed on the ground. On the way to the Bowen Center, Hyde allegedly attempted to kick out the windows of the police vehicle. Police then took her to KCH for medical attention.
After being forcibly taken into the ER, Hyde spit in the face of the nurse who attempted to help her into her bed. Hyde faces a level 6 felony charge of battery with bodily waste on a bond of $5,250 at Kosciusko County Jail.
