Kosciusko County Community Foundation recognized retiring board members and professional advisors during its annual celebration luncheon Tuesday at Champagne Jam.
Suzie Light, Community Foundation executive director, presented a plaque to Jerry Clevenger, retiring board member. Sharon Sommer, who is a retiring board member but did not attend the luncheon, also was recognized.
Light recognized new board members Katie Darr and Jefferson Hankins.
Elected officers for next year are Jerry Yeager, president; Allison McSherry, vice president; Rob Parker, secretary; Steve Snyder, treasurer; and Light, executive director.
Brenda Rigdon, Community Foundation development coordinator, and Sally Mahnken, donor relations committee chair, recognized professional advisors. Plaques were presented to Rex Reed and Dana Krull.
Light highlighted members of the community who have been donors to the foundation.
Carl Wendel created the Carl N. Wendel Scholarship Fund to help students pursue an education and training in careers as mechanics or other skilled trades.
Betty Jane Clover created the Tuben and Betty Jane Clover Fund that supports causes such as St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, Leesburg United Methodist Church, Leesburg Fire Department and the town of Leesburg.
Mary Ellen Rudisel Jordan established the Waymaker Fund to help churches and places of enrichment be accessible to all.
Each person who attended the luncheon had the opportunity to open an envelope and select a grant in their name to benefit either the Limitless Park in Winona Lake; trails in Syracuse, Warsaw and Winona Lake; and youth baseball fields in Leesburg, Mentone, North Webster, Silver Lake, Syracuse and Warsaw.
