A permanent COVID testing site is coming to Kosciusko County with the help of the Bowen Center.
President and CEO Kurt Carlson, speaking at Wednesday’s COVID press conference, said recruiting has already begun for staff to perform tests and gather information. A trailer is being brought in, and promotional and informational flyers are in the works. The site will be on Dubois Street in the parking lot of the new clinic across from The Pill Box.
Testing is planned to be done Tuesday through Saturday when it opens. Carlson said they are still waiting on some additional supplies from the state, but said if they are all geared up by next week, they could get things moving as early as then. The site will also be labeled as bilingual, so Spanish translators will be available.
A second, more mobile site has also been discussed. Carlson said if it becomes feasible, that site would move throughout the county to different communities.
More information is expected to come for the sites soon.
