Indiana State Police, with assistance from a confidential informant, arrested three individuals for possession and dealing heroin Monday.
Nicole Winstead, Justin Babendrager and Josey Bickel were all arrested and booked into Kosciusko County Jail with $15,250 bond each Monday afternoon. All three face charges of dealing narcotics, 1 to 5 grams, and possession of narcotics.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the informant arranged to purchase the heroin from Babendrager and Bickel on Monday. The informant claimed not to have the money at the time, and Babendrager and Bickel said they would return later.
Police then conducted a traffic stop on Bickel’s vehicle that Babendrager and Winstead were passengers in. Bickel gave police permission to search the vehicle where three bags of heroin, syringes, cotton pieces and more plastic bags were found, according to the affidavit. There was more paraphernalia and small bags of heroin in other compartments in the vehicle.
Babendrager told police that he and Bickel had Winstead sell heroin for them at a different location earlier.
