Voters in Whitley County’s Richland and Cleveland townships and Kosciusko County’s Jackson, Monroe and Washington townships elected incumbent Georgia Tenney and first-time public office holders Lynn Studebaker and Annette Arnold to the Whitko School Board of Trustees in Tuesday’s election.
Voter turnout in Whitley County was a record 74.16% with 17,695 of 23,862 registered voters participating in 34 precincts. Kosciusko County’s turnout was 66.35%, or 36,159 voters out of 54,500 registered voters casting ballots in 69 precincts.
Tenney, representing District 1, was challenged by Tracy Howard.
Tenney received 82 more votes than Howard: 1,249 votes in Kosciusko County and 886 in Whitley County for a total of 2,135 total votes. Howard received 899 votes in Kosciusko County and 1,154 in Whitley County for a total of 2,053 votes.
In District 2, the candidates were Lynn Studebaker and Jennifer Krull. Studebaker received 99 more votes than Krull.
In Kosciusko County Studebaker received 956 votes and 1,170 votes in Whitley County for a total of 2,126 votes. Krull received 1,120 votes in Kosciusko County and 907 in Whitley County for a total of 2,027.
In District 3, candidate Annette Arnold received 267 more votes than Jason Wolf.
Arnold received 1,036 votes in Kosciusko County and 1,152 in Whitley County, for a total of 2,188 votes.
Wolfe received 1,014 votes in Kosciusko County and 907 in Whitley County, for a total of 1,921.
