Gov. Pence Pushing Awareness On Drug That Reverses Heroin Overdoses

Governor Pence has directed state agencies to work to raise the awareness of a law that allows Indiana residents to obtain and use a drug that can reverse heroin overdoses. Pence has ordered state agencies to act on three initial recommendations provided by his Task Force on Drug Enforcement, Treatment and Prevention, including the one raising awareness of Aaron's Law. He asked agencies to consider how they can be involved in the carrying out of the law and has directed the Department of Workforce Development to work with existing youth assistance programs. In addition, he's ordered the Family and Social Services Administration to determine the feasibility of pursuing a waiver for individuals with drug use disorders to broaden Indiana Medicaid benefit packages.
