Edwin Charles Klug, age 86, Warsaw, Indiana peacefully entered eternal life Friday October 1, 2021 at Millers Merry Manor in Warsaw, Indiana. He was born April 6, 1935, in Flint, Michigan to Nicholas and Alvinah ( Hamlin ) Klug.
On October 26, 1957 he was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Scott in Imlay City, MI. They started their journey together in, Dryden, Michigan where they were blessed with having six children.
He worked for Champion Home Builders before being transferred to Bremen, IN in 1963 where the family lived until moving to Chapman Lake, Warsaw, IN in 1975.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.
Ed found the simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to him and he worked hard for his accomplishments. He enjoyed fishing adventures with Patty, had a passionate love for flowers, proud of his famous “backyard” and was a master gardener, producing the best tomatoes and cucumbers around the lake. “Sweet Eddie” as he was known by his many Chapman Lake friends and neighbors, will be fondly remembered for his love of Golden Retrievers, crazy storytelling, quick wit personality and that soft smirk of a smile which touched so many lives over the years.
Ed is survived by children, Mark (Stephanie) Klug, Michael (Marty) Klug, Debbie (Chuck) Simpson, Julie ( Brian) Smoker, Rita ( David ) Baker and Tina ( Dan ) Rice; Grandchildren, Jessica-Klug ( Joe ) Dixon, Abby-Klug ( Nick ) Herberg, Cory Klug, Katie-Klug ( Drew ) Hochstetler, Jennifer-Simpson ( Russell ) Brown, Chas ( Alli ) Simpson, Nick ( Megan ) Simpson, Shawn Smoker ( fiancé Noel ), Nicole-Smoker (Ryan ) Einhaus , Danny, Lizzie and Christina Rice, David ( Courtney ) Baker and Conner Baker; Great grandchildren, Connor and Oliver Dixon, Carson and Lukas Smoker, Madeline Hochstetler, Ryley, Easten and Theo Brown, Kinsley Baker, Rennlee and Cannon Einhaus, Tucker, Sawyer and Cooper Herberg; many nieces, nephews and cousins plus his Golden Retriever, Scooby Doo II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister and his beloved wife, Patty, and a great-granddaughter.
All services will be private. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
