Traffic downtown Warsaw Sunday afternoon wasn’t heavy, but with a train with uncoupled cars on the north/south Norfolk Southern line around 4 p.m., drivers had to find alternative methods to get from one side of the city to the other. The uncoupling pictured was found at Main Street, which is a one-way street, so drivers going west had the option of crossing the tracks. Another viable option was Anchorage Road or U.S. 30. Central Dispatch only could advise that there was an uncoupling of cars and it was blocking traffic but had no further information. Attempts to reach Norfolk Southern through its media relations line about why the cars were uncoupled, how long it would be or more information was unsuccessful as of press time Sunday evening.
