Manchester Community Schools has created a website titled readitglobal.com that launches today.
According to the announcement from Manchester Schools, the purpose of the site is to encourage readers to read from various genres and to connect readers from around the globe as books are shared by using a hashtag.
Each month an author and genre will be showcased. Followers will be encouraged to read that genre and share what they are reading using #readitoctober (changing to signify the current month). Readit will be promoted on social media websites Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other blogs.
On Wednesday morning the faculty and staff at Manchester Community Schools attended the unveiling of the website.
