The father of a North Webster Elementary student with special needs says his son was assaulted on an unsupervised school bus. According to WNDU, Brock Hawthorne says the incident occurred the morning of Sept. 4 outside of North Webster Elementary School. He says his six-year-old son was on the bus and was assaulted by a fifth grade student. The boy told his father that the 5th grader bent his fingers and arm back. The incident was caught on video. Hawthorne says he was offered to view the tape, but there were technical difficulties with the playback. Wawasee Schools released a statement saying that the video evidence does not substantiate the claims being made. The school says the investigation continues.
