Mary Louise Mason, formerly of Syracuse, Indiana, passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Warsaw Meadows Care Center, Warsaw, Indiana at the age of 87.
She was born on October 18, 1934 in Wayne Township, Kosciusko County, Indiana at the Stoner Family Farm to Mary Margaret (Fairbanks) Priser and Ralph Genoe Priser. She was married on July 5, 1968 to John Claude Mason and they spent their lives together for the next 44 years until he passed away on August 24, 2012.
Mary was a 1952 graduate of Claypool High School in Claypool, Indiana. After graduating she was a lifetime hard worker and spent two years working at United Telephone Company and 20 years working at R.R. Donnelley and Sons in Warsaw from 1968 off and on as a material handler. She also worked for a couple of years for The Paper in Milford. You could always find Mary reading something that interested her, she enjoyed being able to sit for a few hours with her nose in a book. She loved the simple things in life and enjoyed being outdoors especially walking in the woods mushroom hunting. Mary had her own habits, opinions, and as she got older she became more set in her ways. She had many lovable pet peeves that her family could make a very long list of. Family get togethers were very important to Mary, and by-golly if she could make it there, then you had no excuse not to be there for birthdays, holidays, cookouts, anything! Mary would get testy if anyone was late to gatherings, but there was no doubt that she loved her family and would do anything for them. She will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her and were loved by her.
She leaves behind two daughters: Elizabeth (Jay) Dausman (Pierceton, Indiana); Margaret (Max) Grady (Syracuse, Indiana); three grandchildren: Paul (Krista) Dausman (Warsaw, Indiana); Leigh Anne Jessop (North Webster, Indiana); Jade Grady (Syracuse, Indiana); and three great-grandchildren: Alexis, Issac, and Van. Also surviving are two brothers: James (Michele) Priser (Claypool, Indiana); Lawrence Priser (Warsaw, Indiana). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother, William “Bill” Anthony Priser in 2018.
Mary’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana and officiated by Envoy Ken Locke of the Salvation Army. Friends and family can visit prior to the service from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Claypool, Indiana.
