On Jan. 9, the Kosciusko Community YMCA will offer an open day for the community to come in and find out more about membership and what it means to be involved with the Y.
This open house will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will include free admission, classes, tours, door prizes and the opportunity to earn back part of the joiner’s fee, according to a press release from the Y.
The Y wants to help new members get committed and connected when they join, so new members joining Jan. 9 can try the New Member Challenge to earn back part of their joiner’s fee. Participants of the challenge will pick 10 options of activities to complete to help them get engaged and involved at the Y. New members will also be matched with an engagement coach who will help them set wellness goals and develop a plan to reach those goals.
On Jan. 9, there will be free admission to both of the Y’s branches, in Warsaw on Mariners Drive and in North Webster on Main Street. To see more details on the New Member Challenge, see the Y’s website at www.kcymca.org.
The Y is the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, according to the release. All the efforts and offerings of the Kosciusko Community YMCA are guided by the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Every day, the Y works side-by-side with its neighbors to make sure everyone regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Through November 2015, the Kosciusko Community YMCA provided $157,679 in financial assistance to make sure that happens.
