WARSAW — Plans for the massive interior renovations inside the Kosciusko County Justice Building are inching closer taking shape.
On Tuesday morning, the county commissioners received two bids or the proposal.
The bids were from Schenkel Construction, Fort Wayne, for $1,547,800 and the other was from R. Yoder Construction, Nappanee for $1,800,030 million.
The bids were taken under consideration and will likely be awarded on Nov. 6.
The county was prepared to use extra money from the American Rescue Plan Act if the bids came in high, that doesn’t look like it will be necessary.
County administrator Marsha McSherry said once the bid is awarded, officials will work with an architect to begin formulating a strategy in how to tackle the expansive upgrade to the interior that will include new carpet, wallpaper and paint.
She said the project will likely take several months to complete.
