WARSAW — The city of Warsaw has reached a tentative financial agreement with a developer on the future multi-use project at the site of the old Owens supermarket on West Market Street.
The city’s contribution totals $1.3 million
The agreement was approved by the Board of Public Works and Safety on Friday.
Major components of the agreement include $850,000 for purchase and the $300,000 for demolition, according to the city’s director of community & economic development, Jeremy Skinner.
Other costs include work on surveys and predevelopment fees, Skinner said.
The original plan was announced in June, but officials admit it’s been a slow process.
“I’ll just say it’s taken a while to get here, but we’re here,” said Mayor Joe Thallemer.
Financing for the plan should be finalized this spring, Skinner said.
AP Anderson, of Brownsburg, is the developer.
