WARSAW — Nine Republicans have filled out paperwork for Kosciusko County elected office positions as of Friday and a handful of competitive races are shaping up, according to a report from the Times-Union.
Those include:
Nate Scherer, Syracuse and Marcia Baumgartner, Milford, have filed for county commissioner of the northern district, which has been represented by Brad Jackson for more than 25 years.
In the race for county coroner incumbent Tyler Huffer has filed — as has Tracy Wilson, of Leesburg.
In the at -arge county council race, Rachael Rhoades, of Pierceton, and Delynn Geiger, of Warsaw, have filed for one of the three seats. Those three positions are currently held by Joni Truex, Kathleen Groninger and Sue Ann Mitchell.
Other filings include:
- Chief deputy Melissa Boggs, of Warsaw, is running for for the clerk of the circuit court and is poised to replace her boss, Ann Torpy, who is term limited.
- Incumbent county treasurer, Michelle Puckett, of Mentone
- The county surveyor post is being sought by James Moyer, Etna Green. The current surveyor, Mike Kissinger, is retiring.
Candidate filing through noon Friday, Feb. 9.
