WINONA LAKE — Winona Lake took another step this week with the final approval of a committee that will oversee what’s happening at the Miller Sunset Pavilion.
Town council finalized the list of committee members on Tuesday. Those include
Town Council members Austin Reynolds and Ashley McGinnis, Town Manager Craig Allebach and Park Board President Kristie Maiers and town Council President Jim Lancaster will serve until a pavilion facility director is hired and appointed.
After Tuesday’s meeting, McGinnis explained exactly what the committee will focus on.
“It’s more of an advisory committee to the council,” she said. “My hope for the committee is that we can work together to come up with different ideas of ways to get more people to the pavilion.”
She said the committee will convene for its first meeting as soon as everyone can agree on a date.
The establishment of the committee is one of the steps the town is taking to determine how to configure oversight of the pavilion, which opened nearly two years ago.
The town council is also hosting special meetings every month as they fine-tune the plan.
