INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A former guard at the Indiana Women’s Prison is facing charges that he had a sexual relationship with an inmate.
Marion County prosecutors say 55-year-old Lamont Williams was arrested Monday. He is charged with two counts of sexual misconduct and one count of official misconduct.
Court documents say a female inmate told investigators Williams had sexual contact with her twice in 2014 and 2015 while he was a guard at the prison in Indianapolis.
Williams was being held Tuesday at the Marion County Jail on a $15,000 surety bond pending a Wednesday initial hearing. Court records do not list an attorney who could speak on Williams’ behalf.
The Indianapolis Star reports the Indiana Department of Correction fired Williams Feb. 1. He had worked for the state agency since 2007.
