INDIANAPOLIS — If you had been hoping to see rock band Aerosmith perform at Gainbridge Fieldhouse next year, you are out of luck.

The band announced Friday that it is “retiring” from touring and will cancel all future “Peace Out” tour dates.

The legendary rock band was scheduled to perform at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Jan. 16.

This decision was mainly attributed to an injury (likely a fractured larynx) that has affected lead singer Steven Tyler for months. Band members believe “a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible.”

Aerosmith officially formed in 1970. In a message posted to social media, the musicians said, “It has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours.”

They went on to ask that you continue to “play our music loud, now and always,” and “dream on.”

Anyone with a ticket for an upcoming show should be able to get a refund. Ticketmaster will be processing refunds automatically, but resale sites like StubHub may need to be contacted directly.
