One person was arrested for fleeing after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning, where two people had minor injuries.
At approximately 6:29 a.m. Tuesday, Daniel L. Halsey, 39, Pierceton, was eastbound on CR 600N in a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan when Halsey failed to yield the right-of-way to Sean M. Cook, 37, Lakeville. Cook was southbound on Ind. 15 in a 2007 Ford FMS, according to a news release from Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
Halsey’s vehicle struck Cook’s vehicle, and both vehicles came to rest in the northbound lane of Ind. 15.
The passenger in Cook’s vehicle, Jasen L. Howard, 43, Bremen, complained of pain.
Halsey was located walking east of the crash scene. Halsey fled the scene before officers arrived. Halsey had visible injuries and complained of pain in his hip and wrist, where he was taken into custody and booked at the Kosciusko County Jail for fleeing the scene.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Responding agencies were Kosciusko County Sheriff, Leesburg Fire Department and Lutheran EMS.
