Three men were arrested Saturday night after attempting to rob two Elkhart businesses, one, of which, was the scene of a double-homicide last year. Police say 20 year-old Robert Smith and 19 year-old Leonard Taylor of Michigan City entered Saleh’s Market, just after 4:30, Saturday afternoon, and demanded money from an employee while pointing a gun at him. The men fired two shots before leaving the store without taking any money or merchandise. There were no customers inside and no one was injured. That's the same market where two workers were killed during a robbery attempt last year. About an hour later, police were also called to another robbery at RWD Sales. During the investigation, police determined that Smith and Taylor were both involved, along with 20-year-old Akheem Purnell of Elkhart.
