UPDATE:
The school sent a second text alert saying they are no longer on lock down.
ORIGINAL STORY:
IBC in Fort Wayne has sent a text alert to students at 10:40 a.m. advising that the campus is on lock down due to an active shooter in the area. The text read:
“IBC Notifications: Active Shooter in the area. IBC is now on lock down. Please stay where you are.”
Fort Wayne Police say there was a suspect who drove away from campus, but there is not an “active shooter”.
When contacted for comment, the International Business College, a private campus, declined to confirm or deny the text alert.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department confirms they are looking for somebody in that area.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
