Police in LaPorte are investigating an alleged attack on an Autistic teenager caught on video. The incident happened Tuesday afternoon at a home in the 100 block os Stanton Street. According to a LaPorte Police Department news release, officers observed video footage of the teen being struck in the back of the head by a 20-year old LaPorte man while standing on a porch. He was then approached from the front and struck in the face by a 16-year old teen. The victim, who complained of face and head pain, told police he was confused by the incident and didn't understand why someone would hit him. The victim's parents told police their son is autistic and non-confrontational. The adult suspect told police they were just playing and did not hit the victim that hard. The juvenile suspect, who was taken into custody for battery, admitted to striking the victim and was very sorry. A review of battery charges for the adult suspect has been forwarded to the LaPorte County Prosecutor's Office.
